‘STAR TIGERS - CHAPTER ONE’ RELEASED!

Daak attack!

Twenty-one today! Yep, it’s time for our twenty-first release - the first exciting chapter of Steve Moore’s Star Tigers, fully supported by Steve Moore himself.

This follow up strip to the hugely popular Abslom Daak - Dalek Killer sees the Daleks’ second greatest enemy heading into Draconian space in an attempt to find help for Princess Taiyin. There, he is taken under the wing of Prince Salander, noble of the Draconian royal court, but their association leads them both into a web of intrigue, bribery, corruption and jealousy that will inevitably end in tragedy.

The disc comes packed with bonus features:

Back-Up - a comprehensive documentary about the Doctor Who Weekly/Doctor Who Monthly back-up strips.

Land’s End Up Close - an unusual look at the Doctor Who exhibition held at Land’s End in 2008.

Trailer - a glimpse of the second chapter of Star Tigers to whet your appetite.

The second chapter will be released later this year.

 SITE UPDATE

Yonder the Yeti

To celebrate our twenty-first release, we have added some brand new content to the site. As you might expect, the gallery for Star Tigers - Chapter One is now completed, and there is now a review section (containing a review from none other than Steve Moore himself) and downloadable covers in DVD and CD style, as well as a printable label for your disc. Please be aware when it comes to the covers that, along with a single-disc cover, a two-disc version will become available with the release of the second chapter later this year, so if you plan to keep them both in the same box, save yourself some ink and hold off on printing the cover until later.

But that’s not all. We have also expanded our Steve Moore section of the site with a new and exclusive interview covering all of Steve’s work on Doctor Who Weekly and Doctor Who Monthly. There will be a few new surprises in this section with the release of Chapter Two later this year.

There are also additions to the Theatre page, new entries and updates on our Who’s Who page, a new Star Tigers-themed Jigsaw, new reviews of previous productions, the start of a gallery looking forward to the second chapter of Star Tigers, Part Six of our exclusive comic strip by Iain McClumpha Revenge of the Black Dalek, and, to top it all, the next instalment of our In the Comics feature, this time dealing with the comic strip exploits of the Eighth Doctor, fully illustrated with well over one hundred and fifty images, packed with information and comic strip goodness. There are also additions and cross-references to the other articles in the series, plus the addition of a Comic Strip Timeline for easily finding your way around, hopefully making this the most definitive guide to the comic strips anywhere on the web.

 ALTERED VISTAS REACHES TWENTY!

Altered Vistas has reached its twentieth animated release (and including extras that’s over fifteen hours of solid viewing, plus two extra hours of music),  and, to mark the occasion, we have revisited our very first production, Genesis of Evil, and created a brand new, fully animated version.

The soundtrack has been extensively overhauled and extended, with new performances, new sound effects, enhanced and extended music and a
completely new mix that makes the best of our increased experience.
The original sets have been thoroughly retextured and relit, and sometimes completely rebuilt, to get the best out of our new rendering software.
All of the characters have been remodelled from scratch in Cinema 4D to take advantage of advances in 3D character design.
All of the dialogue has been lip-synced.
Even the Daleks have been rebuilt to look their very best.

Included on the disc alongside this new version are a wealth of extras:

I’m Gonna Spend My Christmas With A Dalek. How could we get rid of this little slice of 1960s pop hell? Complete with our original video!
The Story of TV Century 21. A documentary looking at the lavish children’s comic where the Dalek were published for 104 issues.
The Chronicle Years. A second documentary placing the comic strips in cultural and historical context - or a feast of nostalgia for anyone old enough to
remember the 1960s. A trip back in time for everyone else.

All this for the price of a blank CD and return postage and packaging! Click here to order your copy now.

THE LEGEND OF KAWA THE BLACKSMITH

The Legend of Kawa the Blacksmith

As some of you may be aware, I spent 2008-2009 working on my first commercially available animated feature film in partnership with Havi Ibrahim and the Goodwin Development Trust. The Legend of Kawa the Blacksmith is the world’s first animated CGI film in  Kurdish (but don’t worry as the disc also contains a fully lip-synced version in English) and tells the story of the most famous Kurdish legend, the story of Kurdish New Year.

King Zohak, ruler of Mesopotamia, is cursed by a demon named Ahriman. The curse causes two giant black snakes to grow from his shoulders. Unless the snakes feed, Zohak will be tormented with a terrible pain, but the snakes will only eat the brains of children. As children are snatched from all across the land, the sun refuses to shine and Mesopotamia is plunged into an endless night. Can one man, who has already lost six of his seven children, hope to defeat the might of Zohak?

The film is available to order on Region 2 DVD from Amazon, HMV, Play.com, Asda Online, Tesco Entertainment and Borders. Each disc contains a full version of the film in English (featuring voice work from Altered Vistas’ Richard Dadd and John Ainsworth amongst others), a full version of the film in Kurdish, subtitles for both films in both languages, a 35 minute Making Of documentary and a picture gallery.
