 | EXCLUSIVE STEVE MOORE INTERVIEW |
 | | | Following Alan Moore’s review of Black Legacy a couple of days’ ago (see below), we are now equally proud to present to you an exclusive and substantial interview with Steve Moore, creator of Ablsom Daak: Dalek Killer and its follow-up Star Tigers, amongst many other things. This interview takes an in-depth look at the inspiration, creation, development and intended future of everyone’s favourite Dalek slayer, as well as presenting a detailed and never-before-published proposal for a ten-part Abslom Daak comic book mini-series called After Daak that Steve wrote in the 1990s - not to mention one or two other surprises along the way! Find out where Daak came from, where he was heading and why he never got there! You can read the complete interview here. |

 | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Following on from Scott Gray’s enthusiastic review of his own Children of the Revolution a while back, which chuffed us to bits, and the more recent review of Abslom Daak - Dalek Killer by none other than Steve Moore, creator of the character and writer of both Abslom Daak - Dalek Killer and Star Tigers, which you can read here, we are now absolutely delighted to bring you a review of Black Legacy by none other than Alan Moore, writer of that strip - along with the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, From Hell, Watchmen, V for Vendetta and a host of other things (look him up on Wikipedia sometime)! To say that this is a huge thrill would be understating things just a tad. You can read the review here. We are also proud to present the twelfth instalment of Iain McClumpha’s exciting TV Century 21 Ron Turner-inspired comic strip Invasion of the Mechanoids making its exclusive debut here at Altered Vistas. There are also a few new reviews for Children of the Revolution and Curse of the Daleks. Expect some more exciting new content very soon now... | | | TWO NEW RELEASES FROM ALTERED VISTAS!!! | | | | | | | | | | | | | With all your wonderful reviews over the past few months, you’ve been very lovely to us here at Altered Vistas, so we have decided to be equally lovely to you and give you two releases at the same time! AV16 is the long-awaited release of The Curse of the Daleks. This double-disc set, which runs at almost one-hundred and twenty-eight minutes in total, is an authentic recreation of the 1965 stage play, with a full cast, original music and sound effects and a selection of bonus features, including a reading of the original notes written by David Whitaker that appeared in the theatre programme, accompanied by some unique and wonderfully nostalgic images created by our own Iain McClumpha, a short documentary about the original stage show at the Wyndham Theatre, and a recreation of highlights from William Hartnell’s turn on the long-running radio show Desert Island Discs, with Jonathan Redwood turning in a brilliant performance as the man behind the First Doctor. Talking of Jonathan Redwood and brilliant performances, he’s back on AV17, which is a dramatic reading of Doctor Who and the Invasion from Space, a World Distributor story published in a single volume in 1966. This surprise release was originally planned as an extra feature for another disc, but a combination of the length and the truly wonderful performance persuaded me to make it a release in its own right. The reading is accompanied by CGI illustrations and occasional animations, to create a living story book. It is accompanied by a short gallery of images from the original book. Running at almost seventy minutes, this disc is an unusual and hopefully entertaining addition to the Altered Vistas stable. To avoid unnecessary delays, please check the availability of your usual dubsite on the Getting Copies page before sending discs. Real life can sometimes get in the way of even the most dedicated dubbers and we want you to get your copies as quickly as possible. We very much hope you enjoy these two new releases - that’s three discs worth of brand new material - and look forward to hearing your comments, which you can send to us at empire639@msn.com. | | | SITE UPDATE | | | To celebrate the release of these two new adventures, we have given the site a thorough overhaul in as many areas as time would allow. The gallery for Curse of the Daleks has now been completed, and obviously we have also added a DVD cover, CD cover and the usual CD labels kindly created for us by Colin Gunn. In addition, we have also added a small gallery of images from Invasion from Space, plus covers and a label for this story too. Naturally, the Theatre page now also features a short clip from Curse of the Daleks, to whet your appetite. The wallpapers section has been dramatically cut back for the time being, but there will be a whole new range arriving soon to join our new Curse of the Daleks and Invasion from Space themed wallpapers. These will be produced at a higher resolution to the previous selection, so if the current new wallpapers aren’t to your monitor’s resolution, be sure to let us know what resolution you would prefer. Both the Dalek and Cyberman comic sections have received a thorough overhaul, with a wealth of new images and additional and corrected information. The Daleks’ section now has well over one hundred and seventy images, while the Cyberman section has in excess of ninety. We hope you enjoy these enhanced pages and the information and images they contain. To reflect the new productions now available, the Who’s Who page now features many new faces and interesting details about our actors, plus several updates for people who already reside there. The Dalek Chronicles’ Encyclopedia has a smattering of new entries and some additional information, plus a few new images as we continue our ongoing quest to make it the most comprehensive resource on the web for The Dalek Chronicles strips. And this is not to mention a wealth of new reviews for productions old and new (for which we offer huge thanks for those who took the time to write and let us know what you think), an update on the Future Projects page, and the next exciting instalment of Iain McClumpha’s gripping and exclusive comic strip Invasion of the Mechanoids! Things are looking decidedly grim for the Daleks as the Mechanoids step up their attack on Skaro... We hope you enjoy the new productions and the new content and come back again soon. Hopefully we will soon have news of an exciting new production, not to mention some casting opportunities... | | | THAT’S ALL, FOLKS! | | | We hope you enjoy this site and the steadily increasing number of productions that are available. Your comments, suggestions and reviews are, as always, extremely welcome (more than that, they're essential to our continued existence), and you can send them to: empire639@msn.com. We're always keen to offer the best that we possibly can. Best Wishes, Stuart
