| So, what do Altered Vistas do? | |
| Altered Vistas is an amateur production company dedicated to creating Doctor Who-related features. However, unlike other fan organisations dedicated to creating additional adventures for the good Doctor, Altered Vistas is dedicated to adapting and bringing to life stories that already exist on the fringes of Who-lore. That covers a broad spectrum of stories, and we're hoping to adapt for the screen as many of them as we can using animated CGI assembled against a high quality soundtrack with music, sound effects and the best amateur actors we can get our hands on. | |
| Is this strictly legal? | |
| No. Which is why all our projects are undertaken without any monetary compensation. The rights remain fairly and squarely with the BBC and the original writers and copyright holders, and no attempt is made to supersede any of the copyrights held. For that reason, Altered Vistas provides a free service for fans in VCD format only (ie. equivalent to VHS tape). This should be compatible with most modern DVD players. Please don't ask for the higher quality DVD format as we won't be doing it. We have no desire to step on the BBC's toes. You send a blank CD and p&p and we return the CD to you as a VCD. Support the BBC releases and never pay for or attempt to sell an Altered Vistas production. You could jeopardise future work. | |

| I’ve just written a Doctor Who script. Interested? | |
| Not even remotely! All our projects spring from the vast pool of Doctor Who writing that is already out there and of general and historical interest to the fans (unmade stories, stage plays, adaptations of important or entertaining comic strips etc.). We will not be commissioning any scripts for original work. I guess that epic Nimon versus the Krotons screenplay you've written (the one that's set on the planet of the CSO pyjama people) will just have to find another home... ;-) | |
| Will you be adapting Big Finish audios? | |
| No, we won't. This isn't the place to try and get hold of free copies of soundtracks. We seek to illuminate the parts of Who history that haven't been presented this way before, not annoy the BBC and its licence holders. | |
| How about the short Who-related film I’ve made? | |
| We are always on the lookout for high quality short films, interviews and animations of general interest to Doctor Who fans that could be included on a disc as a bonus feature. If you have made one that you think might fit the bill, please get in touch and we’ll see if we agree with you. All accepted submissions will receive a free copy of the completed VCD as it is released plus a mention on our Who’s Who page. Not to mention our eternal thanks for helping us out with those pesky bonus features! | |
| Could you burn your productions onto DVD for me? |
| No. We don't have the facilities to burn DVDs, and even if we did, we don't want to annoy the BBC by producing such high quality copies. Anyone sending DVDs will simply get them returned blank. | |
| Could you burn more than one production onto a disc? |
| Even assuming more than one production would fit on a single CD, the answer is again no. Because of the way the discs are copied, this simply isn’t possible. Plus we would have to make a brand new menu for each and every disc, which simply isn’t practical. | |
| You remade ‘Genesis of Evil’. Will you be remaking all the others? | |
| From time to time we may revisit certain chapters of The Dalek Chronicles for an update, but it is definitely not a priority and we have no plans at all to keep working over the same material. We would rather keep pushing forward with new projects and new ideas. | |
| Can I get in contact with you crazy people? |
| Of course you can! If you have any further queries, please get in touch with an email to empire639@msn.com. | |
